What is Echto?
Echto is a personal AI assistant from the European Union. It reads, writes, plans and remembers on your behalf, with your permission. It runs on European infrastructure, follows European privacy law, and is paid for by subscriptions instead of your attention.

The GDPR protects your data
The EU's General Data Protection Regulation gives you the right to access, correct, move and erase your personal data, and limits what companies may do with it. Echto is designed around these rights from day one, not added on later. (Regulation (EU) 2016/679)
The EU AI Act asks for transparency
The AI Act sets rules for AI systems in Europe, including telling people when they are dealing with AI and how generated content is labelled. We build with these obligations in mind. (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689)
Where data lives is only half the story

What is Echto?
Echto is a personal AI assistant built in the European Union. It is designed to help with email, your agenda, messages, writing and everyday questions, like the assistants offered by large tech companies, while storing and processing your data only in the EU and never using it for advertising.
Is Echto available yet?
Not yet. Echto is in development. People on the waitlist get early access first and help decide which features are built first.
How is Echto different from Meta AI, ChatGPT or Gemini?
Echto aims to offer similar everyday help, but is run by a European company on EU infrastructure. Your data stays in the EU, is not used for advertising, is not used to train AI models unless you opt in, and can be exported or deleted at any time.
Where will my data be stored?
Only in data centres inside the European Union, operated by European providers. We will publish the full list of locations and subprocessors before launch.
Will my conversations be used to train AI?
No, not unless you explicitly opt in. Training on your data is off by default.
Which languages will Echto support?
Echto is being built for Europe, with the goal of supporting the official EU languages. English and Dutch come first, with more languages following during early access.
What will Echto cost?
Pricing is not final. Echto will be funded by subscriptions, not by advertising or selling data. Waitlist members hear about pricing first.
Is Echto GDPR compliant?
Echto is designed around the GDPR from the start: EU-only data processing, data minimisation, and easy access, export and deletion of your data. It is also being built with the transparency obligations of the EU AI Act in mind.
